Nick Saban Makes His Debut On College Gameday And He's Even Better Than Imagined

Former Alabama head coach Nick Saban made his debut on ESPN's College Gameday today. It was no secret that Saban would become one of the most sought people to be hired by the big networks once he retired from coaching football. There are a variety of reasons he was so wanted, but among those are his charisma, charm and, of course, knowledge of the game. And well, he was better than expected and had the quote of the day in college football:

God bless Nick Saban is on tv now

First, Saban broke the internet with this quote. But let's talk about his quote for a moment here. We are in a new world of college football where rosters are worth $20 million dollars and could even be more. And Saban is right, if you don't pay the right players, you're simply not going to be good.

It's weird to think about where the state of college football has changed so drastically over the last few seasons. Many coaches have not been able to adapt or just stepped away from the sport due to the changes. Saban, was able to adapt, but reports are he didn't love the new era of college football and that was part of the reason he retired. We've seen coaches like Dabo Swinney of Clemson refuse to adjust, and we're watching Clemson struggle because of it. This new way of college football is here to stay, however, so get used to it. Welcome to the new world of college football.
