NBA legend Dikembe Mutombo, known for his defensive excellence and for winning four defensive player of the year awards, has passed away after a battle with brain cancer at the age of 58. Mutombo was also known for his humanitarian work.
Mutombo played for multiple teams throughout his NBA career. His signature finger wag after blocking shots was a fan favorite and was his signature pose. Mutombo, who is originally from Congo, is one of the greatest defenders to ever play basketball. Along with his four defensive player of the year awards, he was an eight-time all-star and made three different All-NBA teams. He is second all time in blocks in NBA history.
